About us

Introduction

Originating at Macquarie University, MultiLit Pty Ltd has become a major force for effective literacy instruction in Australia.

For 25 years, MultiLit has provided assistance to tens of thousands of students in a variety of settings, including schools, our own Literacy Centres, and community-based literacy projects across Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

As a result of being a research initiative of Macquarie University, MultiLit’s publications, professional development and Literacy Centre are continually informed by an ongoing program of research. The research team is led by Emeritus Professor Kevin Wheldall AM. Recognising the valuable contribution of this research, MultiLit was featured by Universities Australia in its 2019 ‘Universities Research Changes Lives‘ campaign.

We have seen such incredible results since our daughter started the MultiLit program in Term 1 this year. The tutors are encouraging, professional, and incredibly experienced. We are at the end of two terms of the program and are very thankful we found MultiLit. Highly recommend.

MultiLit has made a wonderful and fundamental difference to my child's life and self -esteem. He started the program at the very bottom of his class. I had tried other reading interventions that did not work. A couple of weeks ago he told me he had a maths test in school, so I asked how he went. He said "Good, I could read the questions." It melted my heart. It is amazing to see how far he has come in this scientific, evidence based program. It is absolutely worth it. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. The program is amazing and the educators celebrate my son's success as much as I do.

Thanks so much to all those involved with this program. My daughter accessed this program through school in early primary. She was really struggling with her literacy and it was having a negative effect on her self esteem. The program has enabled her to develop the skills to become a competent reader and now she loves to read all the time. We're very proud of her progress and so is she. Many thanks!

My Son was diagnosed with Dyslexia and has completed nearly 2 years with Multilit. The benefit of Tutoring with MultiLit is that they have a program that has evidence to show it is beneficial for struggling readers. They were able to go through my Son's literacy skills and make sure he was taught all the things he had missed when he was in Infants. We would highly recommend this program for anyone with a child who is struggling to read. My Son now has the confidence to try and sound out words he doesn't know, and is no longer embarrassed that he finds it hard to read. All the Tutors that he worked with were very encouraging.
