At MultiLit Literacy Centres, we are dedicated to providing personalised and effective literacy support for your child. Our comprehensive tutoring process ensures that each child receives the attention and resources they need to thrive.
Below is a detailed look at what you can expect when enrolling your child in our program.

Initial Assessment
- Exploratory phone call: Our journey begins with an initial phone call with one of our literacy experts, where we discuss your child’s needs, likes, and dislikes. This helps us understand their unique situation and tailor our approach accordingly.
- Review of reports (optional): If you have any existing reports, such as psychological assessments, you are welcome to share them with us. We will review these documents to gain a deeper understanding of your child’s needs.
- 2-hour assessment: Your child will undergo a thorough 2-hour assessment to evaluate their current literacy skills. This assessment is designed to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
- Review with Centre Manager: Following the assessment, you will have a 45-minute to 1-hour meeting with our Centre Manager. During this meeting, we will review the assessment results and discuss potential solutions. All Centre Managers are literacy and education experts.
- Comprehensive report: You will receive a detailed report that includes the assessment results, a description of the assessment process, and specific recommendations for next steps.
Instruction Phase
- Consistent tutoring: Your child will be paired with specifically chosen tutors who will work consistently with them throughout the term. This consistency helps build a strong tutor-student relationship and ensures continuity in learning.
- Senior Tutor oversight: A Senior Tutor will be assigned to oversee your child’s instruction, ensuring that they receive high-quality support.
- Weekly progress reviews: Our Centre Manager will review your child’s progress on a weekly basis to ensure they are on track and making improvements.
- Expert oversight: The General Manager, Andy Russell, and Clinical Director, Dr Alison Madelaine provide additional oversight to ensure the highest standards of instruction.
- Regular feedback: At the end of each lesson, you will receive feedback from your child’s tutor, keeping you informed about their progress and any areas that need attention.
- eLibrary acccess: Your child will have access to our eLibrary and will receive books from our carefully stocked library for home reading. These books are selected to match your child’s reading level.
- Discount on Bookshop Purchases: As an added benefit, you will receive a 10% discount on all online purchases from The Bookshop by MultiLit. This allows you to access a wide range of storybooks at a reduced cost.
- End of Term 1 progress summary: At the end of Term 1, you will receive a progress summary that includes graphs of lesson progress and monitoring results. This summary will highlight areas of ease and challenge for your child.
- End of Term 2 assessment: At the end of Term 2, your child will undergo another full assessment at no additional cost. This assessment will show generalised progress and provide a comprehensive view of their development.
