Why have you joined MultiLit?
I believe in the effectiveness and efficacy of MultiLit’s programs. I am a passionate MultiLit advocate, having implemented our programs in four schools. I believe that being highly literate is an essential skill for every student, and MultiLit provides the best programs to achieve this. I have been using them since the early 2000s and have therefore had a long affiliation with our suite of programs and resources.

What do you wish more people understood about learning to read, or about literacy or education in general?
When I was teaching and leading in schools, I wanted to ensure learning was purposeful, creative and communal. Learning is hard, and if it is not hard, then you likely already knew it! This does not mean that learning is not fun or rewarding. It certainly can be, and it’s so much more enjoyable when it’s done with others. I hope that we all see ourselves as learners, as it allows us to not only seek understanding, but also leads to wisdom.
